Dear unleaded people,

who stole the summer? I'm sitting here in my appartment in Magdeburg right now, still spoiled by the generous summer we had this year. I look out of the window and start to complain about the little shower outside and temperatures around 22°C (this used to be sort of the maximum in our area 10 or 15 years ago!!).

Anyway, this site is about music and not the weather forecast. So let me tell you that there's a lot of music because since the end of the Worldcup we started to rehearse again. You will benefit from the efficiency of our rehearsals at a few live shows for the time being. Have a look at the display section to figure out where we play next. But we still aim to record an album later this year.

Plata o plomo has also a myspace site now. Visit, add and listen to us on www.myspace.com/plataoplomoband

Did you know that one of our all time favorite bands HELMET has a new record out since July? After the second and third listening we agree that it's great, except of the snare sound in "Money Shot"! It was somehow bigger on the demo that slipped through the internet about two years ago. But give it shot anyway!! By the way, Jeremy Chatelain, the former HANDSOME singer, plays bass at Helmet live shows now.

Take care,
carsten

It's soundday today. We just uploaded two fresh songs for you.
Listen to them at the "resonance" section. There are free and you can send this little birds everywhere you want to make other people happy. Take care...

Hey fellas, the fact that there's no music at all on our homepage is a shame. We will change that quite soon. This weekend we're going to record two songs which we'll put on our homepage. You'll be able to download them for free. The songs will be Apollo and Julia from our current live set. An Album is planned later this year, as soon as we have two or three more songs arranged and rehearsed.

A couple of live shows are coming along the way this summer. The first will be in the little village of Hakenstedt around June 24th. The exact date will be added. One week later we'll hit the Entgleist-Festival in Kalbe/Milde. We played there with our old band and got an invitation to play there again. We didn't hesitate a second. The last confirmed show for the time being is in our hometown of Haldensleben. August 25th we will rock the stage on the Postplatz amongst others with 14tägig anders who are fellows from Magdeburg. Have a look at the display link for a listed gig overview.

You might ask yourself what we did all the time since the last intelligence entry? I tell ya, working, studying, drinking, smoking, rehearsing, going to shows...

The Heath of the moment
Yes! Yeah! It’s done! We premiered! And besides of that we had a weekend we’ll never forget. (Actually this posting is one week late but I was snowboarding in the Czech Republic for six days and have only now time to write.) I’m of course referring to the great happening from the Feb. 10/11 (see below). It was fucking awesome!!! Big thanks to Adrian from Elliott’s Bike in Paris who booked the first Mock Orange Europe tour ever and opened with his great band Jordan the best show in Magdeburg for long. Thanks to Mock Orange, the band of the hour, for two fantastic shows and for being such lovely people. It was wonderful to hang around with you, to talk about music, serious issues or simply about shit, we enjoyed every second with you guys. Hopefully we can do that again! We want to thank all the folks who came to see the shows. Your appearance made them such a success. And finally thanks to me for smuggling Plata o Plomo into the line-up...

The great happening

Well, folks, this Friday something great will take place in Magdeburg. The venue is the Projekt 7 on the campus. MOCK ORANGE from Evansville, Indiana, one of the greatest bands on this earth, plays the first show ever in Germany. Additionally this event features JORDAN from France (with Adrien, the guy in charge of the Mock Orange Europe tour) and finally our little band premieres. We've been excited for weeks! So come by and witness a fantastic night with a lot of loud and fine live music! Entrance is 6 Euro. Click here for more information:

Welcome to the virtual home of plata o plomo. We are so glad we finally can move in. Big pros to Alex, the man in charge of the design, thanks to Konstantin for providing the great picture of the asian boy and thanks to 'southern belle' by Elliott Smith which is currently running on my hifi.

Have a look at the chronicle section. Right there you can get a rough impression of our musical past. Though we still haven't enough songs for a live set there're already two shows scheduled in February. Click on 'display' for details. We're so anxious to play!

Feel free to visit this site occasionally to be informed about the hanky-panky of our band. Plataoplomo.de will be updated regularly.

Currently we rehearse a lot at the weekends. It really makes a lot of fun. We feel totally confident with what we're doing.

  Have a good time!
